Agridera Fresh Market Tomato Hybrids

Our hybrids have improved disease resistance, allowing for adaptation to different markets globally. Currently, emphasis is being placed on combining Tomato Yellow Leaf Curl Virus (TYLCV) and Tomato Spotted Wilt Virus (TSWV) resistance with resistance to other leaf and soil-borne diseases such as Leveillula taurica (Lv) or bacterial wilt (R. solanacearum). Moreover, after comprehensive efforts that are being undertaken to develop varieties resistant to TBRFV virus (Tomato Brown Rugose Fruit Virus), in 2022 Agridera will begin introducing new varieties with tolerance to TBRVF.

Agirdera tomato breeding programs are focusing on three main segments:
  • Indeterminate greenhouse tomatoes for single pick (200-300 gr.) and cluster (150-170 gr.);
  • Indeterminate tomatoes for open-field with beef type fruit (220-300 gr.).
  • The third project is open-field bush type tomatoes with wide range of sizes: round shape fruit (150-300gr.) and elongated fruit (140-170gr).
