Our hybrids have improved disease resistance, allowing for adaptation to different markets globally. Currently, emphasis is being placed on combining resistance to Tomato Yellow Leaf Curl Virus (TYLCV) and Tomato Spotted Wilt Virus (TSWV) with resistance to other leaf and soil-borne diseases such as Leveillula taurica (Lv) or bacterial wilt (R. solanacearum). Moreover, after comprehensive efforts were undertaken to develop varieties resistant to the TBRFV virus (Tomato Brown Rugose Fruit Virus), in 2024, Agridera introduced new varieties with tolerance to TBRVF.
Agridera has developed varieties which set in high temperatures.
Agirdera tomato breeding programs are focusing on three main segments:
- Indeterminate greenhouse tomatoes for single pick (200-300 gr.) and cluster (150-170 gr.);
- Elongated Indeterminate tomatoes, single pick, and cluster. (150 -180 gr.)
- Indeterminate tomatoes for open-field with beef-type fruit (220-300 gr.).
- The third project is open-field bush-type tomatoes with a wide range of sizes: round-shaped fruit (150-300gr.) and elongated fruit (140-200gr).
